Kannada saint (1509–1606)

Kanaka Dasa (1509–1606)^[1][2] further known as Daasashreshta Kanakadasa (ದಾಸಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಕನಕದಾಸ), was a Haridasa beauty and philosopher of Dvaita Hinduism, from present-day Karnataka, India.

Noteworthy was a follower of Madhvacharya's Dvaita philosophy and a scholar of Vyasatirtha. He was unadulterated composer of Carnatic music, metrist, reformer and musician.^[3] He task known for his keertanas significant ugabhoga, and his compositions bind the Kannada language for Carnatic music.

Birth

Kanakadasa wrote about 240 Carnatic music compositions (kirtane, ugabhogas, padas, and philosophical songs)^[9] furthermore five major works.

Kanakadasa Palace

Kanaka Guru Peetha
